With over 30 years business and legal experience on all sides of complex commercial, real estate and technology transactions, I am very effective in helping parties deal with and resolve disputes. Because of my background and training, I can often help parties find solutions to transform disagreements into win-win outcomes.

My diverse background and experience gives me a perspective enabling me to understand the issues and think creatively about approaches to resolve them. In addition to the private practice of law, over the last 30+ years I have served as an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Maryland, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland Law School, an Associate General Counsel at the Rouse Company, and a consultant and executive in the technology industry.

Over the years my work has always involved complex business transactions, and I have a great deal of experience in financings, contracts, technology and real estate. In handling and structuring transactions for clients, I was often able to develop approaches which other people had not seen to achieve my clients` objectives and successfully complete difficult transations.

I bring that same approach to resolving disputes. My objective is to create an environment with the greatest chance of a successful outcome. To accomplish that, I establish an atmosphere in which all parties feel confident of my neutrality and comfortable with my insight and judgment. In that kind of setting, it becomes easier to understand the real causes of the problem and to find creative and positive solutions.
