Questions & Answers
HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL DIVORCE MEDIATION TAKE?

Of course it depends on the number of issues and their complexity. Parents with minor children must establish a PARENTING PLAN to submit to the court, which includes agreements about you will handle decisions regarding medical, educational, religious, holiday time, normal parenting time, vacation time and extra curricular activities. Expect to spend 3 hours on these important issues. Finding a creative solution to payment of maintenance to a spouse may involve examining asset and debt distribution, obtaining advice from your tax person and understanding what questions to ask when consulting with an attorney. Many clients need two two hour mediation sessions.

HOW IS CHILD SUPPORT CALCULATED?

The courts use the Colorado Child Supprt Worksheet software program, which uses the gross income for each parent, number of children, children's daycare and insurance costs, costs for education and number of overnights each parent spends with the children. I own the program. Please bring that information to your mediation session.
