Effective Communication.  Through lecturettes, examples, role plays, and discussion, participants will learn and practice key skills of active listening, reframing, and effective self expression.  Training occurs in the group at large and in small groups.  Instructors provide coaching. The workshop can be modified for shorter presentations.

Instructors: Lyn Wade, M.A., Beth Brown Ornstein, J.D.

Running Efficient Meetings.  This developmental program helps group members learn to facilitate their own meetings through a minimum of three sessions at group meetings.  The first meeting is facilitated by the instructors.  For the second session, a group member helps design the meeting and acts as recorder.  That group member facilitates the third meeting with a second group member as recorder.  The instructors serve as coaches.  It is possible to continue the developmental process until all members have taken a turn at both the recorder and facilitator roles.

Instructors: Lyn Wade, M.A., Beth Brown Ornstein, J.D.

Non-Adversarial Communication Skill Building Workshop. This two-day workshop teaches how to prevent arguments before they occur by creating cooperation and understanding instead of anger. Use the skills of Non-Adversarial Communication yourself and help others to deescalate blame and anger, negotiate for what’s deeply important, listen when upset, make conversations more productive, reach clear agreements, and enrich relationships. Participants practice listening “beneath words” for underlying needs, using language that invites rather than attacks, responding to “No” and to silence with comfort, and more. Includes the book, Non-Adversarial Communication: Speaking and Listening from the Heart by Arlene Brownell and Tom Bache-Wiig. Instructors: Tom Bache-Wiig and Arlene Brownell, PhD. of Connection Partners, Inc. For more information, or to register for the Non-Adversarial Communication Skill Building Workshop, click here.
